Frequently asked questions.
Ok, this was a great experience do you offer more?
Actually, yes. Our instructors work closely with the Kenai Aviation Training Academy. There they can provide instruction for any rating from Private to ATP, including Floats and Multi-Engine.
What should I wear?
The heat in our Citabria works really really well, even in the winter. Wear layers so you can find a good fit for you without the instructor freezing in the back. Being that this is a tandem aircraft, you get all the heat and the instructors have historically been forced to shiver.
Also, be sure to wear shoes that you can feel/move your feet in. This plane has heel brakes and you want to be able to “be in tune” with what your feet are doing. Stick and Rudder skills are what separate the Tailwheel pilots from our fellow nosewheel warriors.
What do I need to bring?
Good attitude, a headset, a signed waiver that should have been emailed to you or available below (or we have some in the hangar too), and coffee for the instructors because we’re probably running late and didn’t get a chance to stop
